History of Sole Sundays
In 2018, I found myself burnt out and overwhelmed —burnt out from corporate and entrepreneurship demands, desiring to be a more present parent, and yearning to feel more connected in my life
My nightly rituals of bath and foot soaks truly helped me find balance. They provided a quiet sanctuary where I could process my stress and reconnect with myself.
As a way to share these rituals and products with other women, I began hosting intimate foot care parties in my home on Sundays, called Sole Soak Sundays.
We would soak our feet and have elaborate foot care ceremonies while we drank wine or tea, shared our stories, laughed, and sometimes we'd cry. These tears were often from release of emotions that had been held for years or months and sometimes from the joy of having a safe space to come undone.
The response to Sole Soak Sundays was overwhelming —women felt deeply restored by the products and the shared connection with other women. They asked for more sessions, shared their experiences with others, and planted the seeds of what Sole Sundays has grown to become.
As Sole Sundays has evolved, I've deepened my studies in traditional wisdom and healing practices so that I could be of better service to myself and the women I serve. Since 2018, some of my studies and practices have spanned herbalism, reflexology, plant medicines, mindfulness, sound healing, lunar cycles, and more. I discovered that this knowledge could amplify the results of Sole Sundays and I began incorporating them into the Sole Sundays practice. For example:
- Reflexology revealed that our feet are maps to our bodies and how intentional touch promotes relaxation and well-being.
- Herbalism and plant medicine taught me the healing power of natural ingredients, inspiring the herbs and ingredients in my signature hand-crafted products.
- Mindfulness became a core practice to help reset the nervous system and cultivate presence, especially during the pandemic, when so many of us operated on autopilot.
- Incorporating lunar cycles during select ceremonies, I honor the connection between nature's rhythms and our mental and emotional states, offering women a path for more connection and a more grounded and restorative experience.
Today, Sole Sundays is a ceremonial practice and way for women to reclaim their peace, their power, and their presence in a world that desperately needs their wholeness.
